Celebrate Hispanic Culture

Hispanic Heritage Month is here and the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County in Santa Rosa is honoring it with Celebrando Culturas Juntos. The celebration will begin on September 30 with a Botanical Bus herbal workshop and Nuestra Communidad’s performance of traditional folk ballet. Then, on October 14, Salsa Rosa Orchestra will perform live music and artist Martin Zuninga will facilitate a collaborative community art project. On both days, there will be interactive bilingual storytimes, a recreation of the Nazca Lines, a paper mache Alebrije (Mexican folk-art sculptures) project, and traditional crop planting. Both events will be held 10 a.m.–2 p.m. and are included in museum admission: $13–$16 or free for babies 11 months and younger; discounts offered to seniors, military members, and low-income patrons.
