Focusing on the significance of the bicycle in northern California, the exhibition shows how the bicycle changed over time and according to its specific functional and aesthetic needs. Starting in the late 19th century, the show examines various stories and events surrounding bicycles, tracing the regional innovations with respect to bicycle racing and mountain biking, the political issues surrounding bikes and the green movement, and finally exploring various trends with art bikes and other two-wheeled inventive creations. A film section of the exhibit features interviews with prominent local biking professionals, political documentaries, and other films around the themes of mountain biking and racing.
