Pepperwood will once again be offering their popular summer camp on June 11th through the 14th for children ages 8-11 and June 18th through the 21st for children ages 12- 14. Camp is from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm each day and the cost for camp is $125. Register online at Brown Paper Tickets and search for “Pepperwood”. Children will get to hike, and create nature journals during our fun-filled day camp! With discovery and explorations of forests, meadows, and ponds, campers will get an in-depth introduction to the natural world while learning all about science. Each day involves a hands-on science activity, nature journaling, and about 2 hours of easy hiking and exploring. Campers will learn interesting facts about local flora and fauna all while having fun and learning to love the outdoors. Camp is led by enthusiastic environmental educators Margaret Boeger and Nicole Barden. Both of the instructors have degrees in biology and education and have many years of teaching experience in Sonoma county native habitats. Pepperwood is an ecological institute dedicated to educating, engaging, and inspiring its community through land preservation, science-based conservation, leading edge research, and multidisciplinary educational programs. Dedicated to the protection of the region’s rich biodiversity represented within its 3,200-acre Preserve, Pepperwood provides unique open-space access to nature lovers, volunteers, students and scientists from the Bay Area and beyond. The Preserve is located at 2130 Pepperwood Preserve Road approximately midway between the towns of Santa Rosa and Calistoga, and adjacent to Safari West.
