Experiences in life can affect the person you are; not the person you were meant to be. This belief has helped us to change the life of every boy who has come to Hanna Boys Center, since we opened our doors in 1945. It takes work. Good things don’t come easily. But good things do happen. At Hanna, we’re here to help. With a lot of support, a lot of understanding, and a lot of guidance.

As a “haven of hope” for boys and their families, Hanna provides a home away from home for boys who are seriously at-risk for behavioral problems.

What Is Hanna Boys Center?

Hanna Boys Center is a residential treatment center with an on-campus accredited high school serving students in grades 8 through 12.

History

Nestled in the heart of peaceful Sonoma Valley, and located one hour north of San Francisco, Hanna Boys Center has been providing a “haven of hope” for struggling youth since 1945.

Community Outreach

Hanna’s reach now extends beyond our own campus and into the neighboring community, providing employment opportunities, supporting local businesses and sharing our state-of-the-art facilities.

Staff

The staff members at Hanna are dedicated to our students, which is why they stay for an average of 15 years. Learn about our leadership team's experience and goals for our future.

Board Members

Hanna is governed by an all-volunteer board. We seek new board members annually to ensure a fresh and varied flow of new ideas, insights and expertise.

A Message From Our Executive Director

Brian Farragher joined Hanna as our executive director in 2014. Here he shares his strategy and vision for Hanna and the community as a whole.

The Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) Study

Many of the boys we work with have struggled to overcome adversity and toxic stress caused by abuse, neglect, violence, poverty, and racism. Learn about the ACE study and how toxic stress impacts lifetime outcomes.
