It can be difficult for a mammogram to spot cancerous growths in dense tissue. If you need help covering the cost of a mammogram, take advantage of California’s Every Woman Counts (EWC) program, which provides free breast screenings to underserved women. You can search the website of the Department of Health and Human Services to find a provider who works with EWC. Those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer can receive financial help for care through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program.
