Feel the Funk

If you’re in the mood for a little live music, and want to give your kids some run-around time, too, then check out Funky Fridays. The series of summer lawn concerts at Santa Rosa’s Hood Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve will go into full swing on June 2 with a performance by RoseTown Soul and R&B Revue. Other shows include the soul sounds of Stax City on June 9; the roots-y blues of Volker Strifler on June 16; the funky jazz of Hour of Tower on June 23; and local favorites Funky Dozen on June 30. Concerts are held on the lawn of the park’s Hood Mansion and run 7–9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, free for ages 18 and under. Parking is $10. Proceeds benefit the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation. For a complete lineup, see funkyfridays.info.
