Happy to Be Blue

The fast fiddlin’ and folksy lyrics that are characteristic of bluegrass music have been part of the American musical landscape for centuries. Modern performers, such as Duo Quartet, Nu-Blu, Plaid Strangers, and Jerry Wicentowski and the Wiseman Institute, will offer their take on this traditional sound at Sonoma County Bluegrass and Folk Festival. Besides their performances, there will also be a workshop on cowboy songs and another on old-time fiddle playing. The festival will be held on March 9, 1–9 p.m., at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center in Sebastopol. Tickets are $40 at the door or $35 in advance at cbaweb.org.
