Chinese New Year Stories

May 03, 2019 11:38AM ● By Donna Production
May is Asian–Pacific Heritage month. And the Rohnert Park–Cotati Regional Library in Rohnert Park is celebrating with a visit from local children’s book author Natasha Yim. Yim, who was born in Malaysia and raised in Singapore and Hong Kong, has been in the Bay Area since 1979, when she studied at Dominican University of California in San Rafael. A mother of three, she has worked as a children’s social worker and counselor, while also writing children’s books. On May 18 at 10:30 a.m. she will read from her Goldy Luck and the Three Pandas and Mulan’s Lunar New Year, which focus on the cultural significance of festivities surrounding the Chinese New Year. The event is appropriate for ages 5–9 and is free. For details, see sonomacounty.libcal.com/event/5231416.
