Blast from the Cinematic Past

In the days before CGI, and before some of today’s young parents were even born, there was Raiders of the Lost Ark. The 1981 suspense comedy—perhaps now it would be known as a dramedy?—has endured, turning into a kind of cult classic à la The Goonies and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. For the uninitiated and fans alike, the Green Music Center in Rohnert Park is hosting a screening of the film, during which the Santa Rosa Symphony will play John Williams’ Academy Award–nominated score. The flick will be shown on August 24 at 7:30 p.m., with indoor and outdoor seating available. Tickets are $12.50–$85 and may be purchased at tickets.sonoma.edu
