Where No Woman Has Gone Before

While the first man set foot on the moon in 1969, the first woman has yet to touch it. That’s something that NASA aims to remedy. NASA scientist Wenonah Vercoutere will talk about the organization’s commitment to sending the first woman to the moon by 2024, in a free lecture at the Petaluma Library in Petaluma. As part of the talk, Vercoutere will discuss new technologies that will allow for more extensive lunar exploration. And she will also address NASA’s greater mission—sending astronauts to Mars. The talk will be held on September 7 at 4 p.m. Go to sonomacounty.libcal.com for details.
