One-Man Show Hits a Local Virtual Stage

The pandemic may have closed Cinnabar Theater’s Petaluma stage, but the company is still producing shows—online. The latest production is the Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, a one-man show starring Mike Pavone. The local actor plays nine characters, including that of the bored small town detective who finds intrigue in a case about the disappearance of a teen boy, Leonard Pelkey. The playwright of the show, James Lecesne, won an Academy Award for his 1994 short film Trevor and is also the cofounder of the Trevor Project, a 24-hour crisis hotline for LGBTQ youth (866-488-7386). The live-streaming show will begin January 22. Purchase tickets ($30) at cinnabartheater.org
