Beans, tomatoes, and lots and lots of chili powder. These key ingredients are familiar to the local chefs participating in the Windsor Chili Cook-Off. Every year, they compete for the People’s Choice Award, which is given to the best steaming pot of the spicy stew. Besides chili, the event will also feature live ’70s and ’80s rock music and vendors. The cook-off will be held on September 11, noon–4 p.m., at the Windsor Town Green in Windsor. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 8–17; family four-packs are available for $40. Admission comes with a chance to win a Traeger barbecue grill.
