Tour a Sonoma Farm Animal Sanctuary

Where do farm animals go when they get old or have outlived their purpose? Some go to Charlie’s Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary in Sonoma. The nonprofit holds regular weekend farm tours, when kids can come and meet the pigs, chickens, goats, and other animals the sanctuary houses. Sign up for $10–$25 at charliesacres.org/visit.html#community. They also hold goat yoga classes—you, know, where goats hang out with yoginis while they bend and twist. (If you haven’t heard of it, yes, it’s a thing.) And, on February 5, 12:30–4 p.m., the sanctuary will host a fundraiser, the Valentine’s Barn Crawl. Attendees will grab a local brew or glass of wine, some plant-based eats, and venture from barn to barn, hanging out with the farm’s rescued animals. This outdoor 21-and-older event will be held at staggered times. Purchase tickets, which are $125, at tinyurl.com/duz9ez9n.
