Before vineyards, orchards lined the hills of Sonoma County. Apples are still an important local commodity, one the annual Apple Blossom Festival in Sebastopol celebrates. The festival will feature two stages of live music, and also kids’ activities, including live animals, a puppet show, mask-making, and face painting. The festivities happen April 23–24 at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts in Sebastopol. Tickets are $8–$10; kids four and younger get in free.
