Build a Fairy Land

Before there were fairy gardens, there were “miniature gardens.” According to the Curiously Creative website, in the 1950s Anne Ashberry wanted to develop a gardening practice that the elderly, disabled, and those without sufficient land to garden could easily access. The practice of planting miniature gardens was born, and fairy gardens followed. The Miniature Fairy Gardens class at Riverfront Regional Park in Healdsburg will teach participants how to use succulents, mosses, and other natural items to build their own fairylands. The class will be held on April 10, 10:30 a.m.–noon, and costs $25–$27. Register at tinyurl.com/7npfsej4.
