Frogs and Toads Are Friends
Arnold Lobel began drawing when he was a child and never stopped, turning his passion into a career as a children’s book illustrator and author. Some of the most famous of his books comprise the Frog and Toad series, which begot a jazzy children’s musical: A Year With Frog and Toad. The show explores the meaning of friendship as it follows the characters through different seasons. They bake cookies, plant a garden, rake leaves, and celebrate Christmas. Sixth Street Playhouse will take the musical to its stage January 7–22, offering morning and afternoon performances on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $15–$25, or free for children younger than two, and may be purchased at tinyurl.com/mdaxu3mr.
