The Hills Are Alive
Of the nine musicals Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II wrote, their 1959 Sound of Music was the last—and it was a massive success, earning five Tony Awards. Songs like “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Do-Rei-Me,” and “Favorite Things” are still considered Broadway classics. Hear them when Petaluma’s Cinnabar Theater stages a production of the musical September 8–24. Shows are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $33–$60 and are selling fast. Purchase them at tinyurl.com/5987cb29.
