“My kids desperately wanted a pet, and I desperately didn’t — so I wrote this book instead. I hope it takes children (and their parents) on a fun adventure, while teaching kids that pets aren’t just playmates, but living beings who need attention and care,” Adam said about the inspiration for his new book.

Adam lives in Calabasas, California. He grew up in Arizona and Kansas, where wide-open skies helped spark his love for storytelling. His award-winning first children’s book, Abracadabra Whoopsie, was inspired by the sibling rivalry he witnessed between his kids, which led him to wonder what would really happen if one sibling’s dream to make the other one vanish came true. Adam also authored the novel Nagle’s Mercy and has written and directed several films. He likes dogs, cats, horses, and Plutonian puffer-nosed pufferoopaguses.
