October is a great month to experience the Robert Ferguson Observatory, offering events appealing to both amateur astronomers and seasoned star gazers alike. Friday, October 2 is a virtual Young Astronomers meeting at 7 p.m. From 8-10 p.m., a guided tour is led by docents pointing out the hidden secrets of the night sky. Saturday, October 10, Solar Observation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24  is the Stars & Cider Docent & Member Party, where guests take part in a variety of autumn-inspired activities. Sunday, October 25, from 12:30–3 p.m., programs are created specifically for families with children 12 and under. Young explorers discover the solar system through hands-on outdoor excitement. Friday, October 30, is a special Spooky Night adventure for young explorers. Robert Ferguson Observatory is at 2605 Adobe Canyon Road, Kenwood.
