Make Caz part of your summer in 2025!

Discovering the Joy of Making Music

Each summer, Cazadero is proud to help budding musicians take their talent to a new level. We help students develop technical ability, music comprehension, confidence, creativity and ensemble performance skill. Because students work closely with excellent music educators each day, they make rapid progress at camp.

Musical offerings include Orchestra, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Piano, and Guitar. Campers in our younger sessions participate in All Camp Choir too. Our new World Beat ensemble is a fun, exciting program that uses various rhythm instruments and ukulele to teach rhythms and musical concepts. Offered in Young Musicians Session Only. No prior music experience is needed.

Nurtured, Challenged & Inspired

For more than 65 years, Cazadero has offered a dynamic overnight music camp that strikes a thoughtful balance between in-depth music education and summer camp fun. We provide a nurturing, inspirational environment for young musicians ages 9-18.

Campers will also have a choice of musical and non-musical electives that may include jazz improvisation, mariachi, chamber music, art & crafts, nature, sports, and more! With no cell phone service, there is minimal access to electronic media. Each day closes with an evening program such as a campfire, talent show, or staff concert. At night, campers sleep on tent decks under majestic redwoods and a star filled sky. The week culminates in a formal concert performance by our students, attended by proud family and friends.

Campers at Caz are challenged by a rigorous curriculum, but the Caz magic also comes from the inspirational setting and the love and care that the staff bring to teaching our young musicians. Through immersion in music and nature, Caz teaches important life skills such as teamwork, respect, compassion, goal setting, and leadership.
