Camp Okizu

The mission of Okizu is to help all members of families affected by childhood cancer to heal through peer support, respite, mentoring, and recreational programs.

2023 Family Camp!

Family Camp is a chance for the patient, siblings, and parents to come together with other families who are coping with the challenges of navigating the pediatric cancer world. Each session includes some family activity time as well as designated times for parents and kids to meet separately for some targeted peer support.

If you have any questions please contact the Okizu office at 415-382-9083 or email [email protected].

2023 Family Camp Dates and Locations

We are offering seven sessions of Family Camp this year to be held at four different locations throughout Northern California. There is a lot of information to sort through, so please feel free to contact the Okizu office with questions.

During Family Camp, each family will stay in their own cabin or room. Most of the sites have shared restroom and shower facilities but families won’t have to share cabin space.

A few of the rental sites allow for tent camping so if you prefer that please make a note in the comment section below.

We hope to see you at an Okizu program this year!

Oncology Camp

Welcome to Okizu’s Oncology Camp program.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the lives of the patient and the entire family are changed forever. At camp, Okizu offers an atmosphere conducive to nurturing self-esteem and building self-reliance while maintaining the most important aspect of camp: an experience that is fun for the campers. While at camp, children experience being part of a close-knit group of friends; together they enjoy the challenges and excitement of outdoor activities, with a group of peers who truly understand their situation.

This year we are excited to offer both in-person and virtual programs. We will be holding two one-week sessions of Oncology camp and one session of virtual Oncology camp.
