For 143 years, we’ve hand-picked the best apples. Now these 83 heirlooms sparkle in our family-farmed craft ciders, all from our heritage orchards sustainably grown in the premium terroir of Anderson Valley along California’s Mendocino Coast.
Gowan’s estate grown ciders are made with a wine-style approach from the heirloom varietals we grow in our own backyard. Fewer than ten estate grown cideries now exist in California, and our orchards are among the oldest!
Our distinctively flavorful fruit-forward ciders are 100% California grown. Using the wisdom handed down through six generations of Gowans, we craft our ciders from hand-picked heirloom apples. Some of our trees are over 141 years old and the crisp apple taste is as timeless as ever, from the locally popular Gravenstein to the nearly lost Sierra Beauty and much, much more.
As we started fermenting our ciders only recently in 2015 we don't have a tasting room (yet!), but our ciders are often featured at food and beverage events and we can be found at festivals throughout Northern California.
Our award-winning ciders have received accolades, awards and reviews by media, third party experts and consumers. We believe that our deeply rooted history continues to play an important role, from our ancestors' first apple delivery made by horse-drawn wagon to recent years.
We'd love to know what you think of our ciders! Learn more about Gowan's Heirloom Cider Club, sign up for our newsletter and join the conversations on Facebook and Twitter.
