Sole Hope Shoe Parties are a chance for you to be included in the shoemaking process and to be a source of hope and relief from foot-related disease. No special sewing or cobbler skills required!
Join us for a chance to give to communities in Uganda. Sonoma County Library is hosting Sole Hope Shoe Parties to make a direct impact on the life of others seemingly a world away. Thousands of vulnerable men, women, and children in Uganda suffer from a crippling parasite called jiggers. Sole Hope Shoe Parties are a chance for you to be included in the shoemaking process and to be a source of hope and relief from foot-related disease. No special sewing or cobbler skills required! You are touching and prepping the fabric that will be finished into shoes in Uganda to aid in living a life free from jiggers. **Materials will be provided but, please consider bringing older denim to donate! Shoes are constructed from denim so if you have an old jean jacket or pair of jeans bring them along to recycle** Registration for this event is limited, please sign up online to reserve your spot!
