Our mission at the Child Parent Institute is to end child abuse and strengthen the health of children, parents, and families. We use April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month, to advocate and bring awareness to the issues of child abuse in our community. Each year, CPI hosts awareness events and free parenting classes throughout the month to recognize the importance of child abuse prevention.

On April 23rd we are hosting our 12th Annual Blue Ribbon Breakfast and Training. Keynote Speaker, Dr. Taquelia Washington, LCSW, will be delivering her inspirational message: “Letting your Light Shine: How to come beacons of hope during times of inequity and trauma.” This event brings awareness to the issues of child abuse in our county and inspires us to continue our work on behalf of children and families in our communities.
