Mary Perry and the Poaching Pirates is a rhyming adventure story about a woman sea captain and her crew who sail the oceans in pursuit of pirates who fish illegally. It’s an engaging introduction to sea life protection and conservation for children ages 4–9. Our current featured show, Whale Sounds on a Canvas II by local artist Firuze Gokce is an ocean conservancy based show showing the beauty of whales through vibrant, vivid paintings. Combining storytelling with creative visual representation of ocean life, we want to make learning about the environment fun and easy to grasp for young readers!
Date: Sunday, November 9th, 11AM-12PM Bring your young readers to enjoy a Read Aloud of Mary Perry and the Poaching Pirates by Cathleen Springer, while enjoying light refreshments and kids activities. Learn about ocean conservancy and meet both the author and illustrator. Enjoy live music by Dave Fromer. Climb aboard Captain Perry's mighty vessel, the Buoyant Bounty, to join her determined crew as they sail to save large hauls of sad sea creatures caught in poaching pirates' nets of doom.
